The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires is a book that speaks to my soul. This is a story that any creative type can relate to. My students absolutely adored this read aloud and requested it more than a few times! It is the perfect way to tackle what to do when we get stuck, when we get burned out, when we fail, or when we run into obstacles.
After The Fall (How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again)
This award winning book by Dan Santat needs a permanent space on your book shelf! This old twist on a classic is the perfect deep dive into what happens after we fall (or fail)! It is ideal for any kiddo that feels discouraged. It is a perfect reminder to everyone about having the courage to continue getting back up, no matter how great the fall!
The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds is a must read. He so effortlessly weaves creativity and new beginnings throughout this book. This was a frequent read in my class when my students got stuck on the phrase “I can’t.” This is a beautiful reminder of how one can make their mark on the world!
Maybe: A Story About The Endless Potential In All Of Us
This might be one of the most empowering books I’ve ever read – even as an adult. This book written by Kobi Yamada belongs in every classroom and every home. It sends the message that every single person matters. This is a perfect classroom discussion or family discussion starter on kindness and potential.
