We’ve been talking a lot about Halloween and themed color pages lately and I want to let you know some of the benefits of these products in your classroom. These awesome addition, multiplication, and phonic coloring products are great for keeping student’s attention, having them practice different learning skills, rewarding, and easy for teachers to use!
Holiday themes are so beneficial as far as keeping the kid’s attention and engagement. Kids love the holidays and get excited about creepy crawly things.
Second, the color by code pages can help students learn in a few different ways. They develop their reading and comprehension skills by decoding words or solving a math problem, then they have to match and associate the right color to their solved problem. You can also challenge their verbal learning skills by working through some of the questions out loud with the class. Ask them to identify the word or say the answer to the math problem and ask them where the colors should go for those answers.
Another reason is the reward system integrated with challenging problems. Math facts can trip up a lot of students so it is a great idea to have rewards, like coloring as positive reinforcement that they can get through hard problems.
Lastly, I love these coloring products because they are easy for teachers to check and practice with the whole class, once the students have completed theirs. Have the students identify the words or solve some of the problems out loud together for repetition. The color by code and number products are fun and incredibly beneficial for learning these new math or phonics skills or practicing what they know to be able to move on to harder problems.
