“ Perfect for practicing and identifying digraphs! ”
If you’re anything like me, you’ve had 🎶 “do you remember, the twenty-first night of Septemb-a” stuck in your head since last Monday. I’m sorry if I just got it stuck in your head again. But that means autumn is here! I’m so excited about the upcoming holidays (us teachers need the break!) and getting through the rest of crazy 2020.
With the weather cooling off, pumpkins to pick, and Halloween sneaking up, I have the perfect color-coding activity for learning and practicing digraphs. This fall-themed activity keeps students engaged and able to identify digraphs in an easy and time-saving activity for teachers! This is my Fall Edition – Digraph Color by Code package geared toward Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades. This product can meet a variety of student needs as a phonics review. Some teachers have used them even in upper-grade levels for students who are struggling and need some practice with digraphs. The fun coding system focuses on initial and final digraphs like sh, ch, th, ck, ph, kn, wh, and wr. It includes 8-pages of different fall-themed pictures for your students to decode, practice, and color in. They will be surprised by how many digraph words they can identify by the end.
This set is a no-prep, engaging way to help your kids maintain this phonics skill! Plus, it can be used as a printable or digital! Some students of mine have saved the images to their iPads and colored them that way! The color-coding and simple answer keys make it easy to check over the assignments at the end. AND for some extra practice, I recommend reading through the words together when they turn the assignments in or together at the end as a class.
