One of my most popular Instagram posts came from an idea that I’ve used since my first year teaching! The Secret Sticky!
One of my favorite things to do with my kids is the Secret Sticky. During work time, I will walk around with a sticky note and take notes. (They know it’s Secret Sticky time!) My kids know I am observing someone and looking for some specific behavior, but they don’t know who or what.
At the end of work time I give the Secret Sticky to one of my kids to read. I tell the rest of the students what I was taking notes on and what behavior I was looking for and then we celebrate the student who received the Secret Sticky! This is so simple but my kids absolutely love it and it improves the focus & behavior of every single student! 🥰
This is by far one of the easiest ways to reinforce positive behavior and improve overall student behavior.
